Jeni Binns – Artist and Illustrator

Jeni is a founding member of Graphiti Design Studio.

Her art and advertising career began after she completed a Diploma of Advertising at the Art School of Adelaide. From there she worked with the prestigious advertising firm McCann Erikson both in Adelaide and in Melbourne. Further experience in design and advertising came during stints with designer Jon Hawley and freelance work with Pritchard Wood Advertising.

In 1974 Jeni completed a printmaking course in Adelaide. In 1979, after spending time overseas she and her family moved to Lismore. In the 1980s Jeni worked on various freelance projects, and also flourished with her art making, with successful exhibitions in Lismore and Tamworth. Her entry for the first Lismore Portrait Prize was highly commended.

Jeni continued to work with clients such as NORPA and other local businesses. In 1993 she met Soren and they created Graphiti Design, with now retired Phil Goodrich.

Jeni has worked with Council and NSW DPI on various illustration and regular cartooning for the Northern Rivers Echo, as well as in the commercial sector. She is a keen photographer, and enjoys travelling to Melbourne to see family, visiting galleries, reading, theatre and films.
